Portskewett Community Council has three wards covering Portskewett, Sudbrook and Leechpool, a small cluster of villages in a rural setting in the South Eastern corner of Monmouthshire in South Wales. This area adjacent to the Severn Estuary, close to the Prince of Wales Bridge crossing, is of huge historical importance. Whether visiting the Roman Camp or the Severn Tunnel pumping station in Sudbrook, the old ferry to Bristol and Lave Net fishing at Black Rock, King Harold’s Field in Portskewett or the Standing Stones on Heston Brake at Leechpool, we have much to offer.
The Local Community Council acts as a voice to all who live in our area, we represent your views and opinions when dealing with the County Council and reviewing planning applications, and we ensure the area is clean, safe and tidy.
We have had recent success with improving safe routes to schools with the implementation of traffic calming measures, and we regularly arrange community events such as fun days, bonfire night, royal wedding and jubilee celebrations.
The local Community consists of over 900 houses and nearly 2000 residents with very different views, needs and aspirations, and we work hard to represent you and assist you as your Council.
