ABOUT THE COUNCIL
QUICK LINKS
Portskewett Community Council covers the wards of Leechpool, Portskewett, and Sudbrook. The council is made up of ten Councillors who are representatives from across the three wards.
Council elections are held every five years. Any person wishing to stand as a council member is required to complete a nomination paper, which is distributed by the Clerk, and the completed forms are returned to Monmouthshire County Council (MCC).
If the number of applications received exceeds 10 an election is held, however if 10 or less are received those candidates are automatically elected.
Should any vacancies exist they may be filled through co-option. This means the vacancy is advertised and Councillors select a candidate.
